About Me

My photo
I may look slim and svelte outside but what's really inside is a clump of lard. I am clumsy, crazy and flamboyant who loves jumping and leaping as I walk right down through the runway as part of my silly and squeaky side. On the other hand, I also am a lump of horrific and malefic miasma (lol). Surprisingly, (err, not really) I do love CATS! I love them so much, well actually, i love animals especially the weird and exotic ones like tarantulas, iguanas and geckos (weird, eh?). My crazy friends say that I am a Science Geek. I partly agree to that since I am a biology major. I am a honey Bee for spelling words, and I really hope that I don't misspell words here in my posts.

Hum for Happiness

We can never deny that music is one of the most beautiful and greatest thing we people have here on Earth. Even I myself is very grateful that music is a part of my life, and we all should be. It is through music that I can fully express what I have in mind and I really am feeling. It is through music that I wish, I love, I plea and I pray. Without the beauty of music, the world will suffer in deafening silence. Weird as it can be but I treat noise as music. It actually depends on how people perceive the sounds in their surroundings.

I could (proudly) say that God blessed me the talent in listening to different kinds of sounds and noises that I could make music through what I hear. I hum, I write it down and I sing it. Singing is what I really am into and I am really happy that singing loves me in exact the same way as I love it. My family, classmates, friends and teachers are some of the living testaments that I sing regardless of the mood, the weather of the day, the time, the place and of the activity. In shorter terms, I ALWAYS sing.

I sing because I treasure it since God entrusted me such a nice talent. And I am really responsible to hone it and share it with others by letting them listen to the music I create. I may lack the skills in playing instruments however it does not deprive me of creating music. God gave me these elastic cartilages in my voice box to create music, write notes and rests and blend it with other sounds.

Arranging songs has never been easy (for me). It gives me headache and sore throats (haha!). Ako kasi talaga yung nag-aarrange ng mga notes. It's also time consuming since you really have to check if the notes go with the other notes nicely and smoothly. Buti na lang, pinag-aral ako ni mama sa mga voice lessons kaya may alam na rin akong mga techniques. But, it's still hard for me and it would really take a long time para ma-master ko ang pag-arrange ng songs.

I also learn some techniques in arranging songs by listening to choral performances especially those that are performed by the Philippine Madrigal Singers, The Company and other prominent Filipino choirs. Most of my arrangements are based from the Madz and The Company.

FROM A DISTANCE - I love this song very much that I made my own version for this. Here is a link below of the Madz during their concert in Pasadena, California

I hope to be a good maestro someday, meet prominent arrangers and choirmasters and I really wish I could be one of them... maybe someday (haha!). But who knows, someone as grandiose as them might be listening whenever I hum for happiness, right?
